Nestled in the bustling town of Hessle, East Yorkshire and overlooked by the impressive Humber Bridge, you will find Artisan Restaurant.
Situated on The Weir, this grade 2 listed, Georgian town house has been lovingly updated to create the perfect setting. Richard and Lindsey opened Artisan in December 2004 to critical acclaim. At present, Artisan is one of the highest guide rated restaurants in Yorkshire, and has been voted a top 100 UK restaurant and a top 40 UK restaurant outside of London.
Artisan is also listed in both the Michelin and Good Food Guides 2007 and 2008. Other awards include the Journal Restaurant of the Year 2005/06 and is currently The Yorkshire Life Restaurant of the Year 2008/09.
Richard works single handedly, producing lovingly prepared food. The food at Artisan is classical in style with a unique and original choice of two menus. Front of house is run by Richard's wife, Lindsey, who has been noted for her excellent service, creating a very personal and welcoming atmosphere.
